Built with our Remies
Policies from the Remies, for the Remies.
Before launch, we asked our Remies what fair pay, the right benefits, and good working conditions looked like to them. Their answers shaped our policies, and still do.
Our commitments
REMIE was built by and for Filipino professionals. We honour that two ways: by treating the people who build REMIE with the dignity they deserve, and by backing organisations doing real work in the same communities our Remies come from.
How we treat our own
The wellbeing of our Remies isn't a slogan. It's a set of operating commitments we made before launch, and we hold ourselves to them.
Built with our Remies

No graveyard shifts
We picked the Philippines because the time difference with Australia is only two hours. Our Remies don't lose sleep to serve our clients. They have time for family.
Pay that respects the work
Remies earn 2–3× what nurses, physical therapists, and other allied health professionals typically earn in the Philippines. Plus paid annual leave, AU holiday pay, yearly health cards, and performance incentives.
The door stays open
Every Remie has a standing channel to raise issues with their client or our management. New hires get bi-weekly check-ins for the first three months while they settle in.

Justice for one unlocks protection for many.
International Justice Mission has worked since 1997 to protect people in poverty from human trafficking, modern slavery, violence, and abuse of power. Their model is unusual: rather than rescue victims and walk away, IJM partners with local police, judges, and community leaders to strengthen the justice systems that keep communities safe long after they've moved on.
For REMIE, IJM isn't an abstract cause. The Philippines is where they've worked for more than two decades (most prominently on the fight against the online sexual exploitation of children) and where our Remies, their families, and the communities we were built from live. Our Modern Slavery Statement commits us to refusing exploitation inside our own four walls; backing IJM is the broader version of that same commitment.
The two answer different questions but come from the same place. Our internal policies (fair pay 2–3× the typical Philippines healthcare wage, a time zone chosen so Remies don't lose sleep, monthly check-ins that give them a standing channel to raise issues) are how we treat the people who build REMIE. Backing IJM is the recognition that the safety and dignity of those communities can't end where our payroll does.
